Job Purpose
As a working student in Communications, Events & Operations Support at the Kuehne Climate Center (KCC), a key focus during the first months of the role will be supporting preparations and communications for the Hamburg Sustainability Conference taking place on June 29–30, including participant coordination, invitations, communication materials, and event support. You will support the day-to-day communications, event coordination, and operational activities that keep our international team running smoothly. This role combines content creation with structured administrative and coordination tasks, making it ideal for someone with a communications background who also has strong attention to detail and enjoys ensuring that projects, materials, and processes are clean, accurate, and effective. This position is initially offered for a fixed term of six months, with the possibility of extension.
What you will do
- Supporting the drafting of LinkedIn posts and supporting content creation across communication channels
- Preparing, formatting, and supporting the distribution of newsletters and outreach materials
- Supporting communication around events, including invitations, participant management, and follow-up coordination
- Maintaining, cleaning, and improving contact lists, mailing databases, and related administrative systems
- Preparing presentations, flyers, and communication materials
- Supporting website updates via WordPress (where applicable)
- Providing general administrative and operational support that ensures projects run smoothly
You‘re good at
- Paying close attention to detail and spotting inconsistencies
- Keeping data, lists, and materials clean, accurate, and well-structured
- Managing multiple tasks in parallel with reliability and precision
- Working independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues
- Supporting both creative communication tasks and operational responsibilities
You bring
- Background or strong interest in communications, media, or similar
- Strong writing skills in English
- Structured and detail-oriented way of working
- Comfortable with tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and mailing tools
- Interest in sustainability / climate topics is a plus
