Supply Chain Resilience Specialist

Befristet, Voll- oder Teilzeit · Dar-Es-Salaam, Nairobi

About the Project
The non-profit Kühne Foundation is a Swiss foundation with German roots and a global orientation. The foundation supports projects in the areas of Logistics, Medicine, Culture and Climate. It has offices in different regions of the world, including in East Africa, in both Nairobi and Dar-Es-Salaam.

Through the newly established Climate Center, the Kühne Foundation intends to develop projects that contribute to an equally efficient, growth-promoting and globally responsible green transformation. Given the importance of ensuring development in low- and middle-income countries is low carbon and resilient, the Center will mainstream adaptation and resilience into all its work: advocacy, capacity building, and implementation projects. The unique position of the Center is to fill the critical gap of logistics operations in the full supply chain with all its stakeholders.

One of the Center’s first projects is LifeLines through Resilient Supply Chains that aims to create supply chains that are more resilient in the face of climate change and reduce emissions at the same time.

  1. LifeLines are created in three steps: supply chain assessment of climate and other threats and impacts;
  2. response measures to strengthen the weakest links in supply chains and reduce Green House Gas (GHGs) and other impacts;
  3. and implementation with partners of feasible measures and long-term collaboration, with fairly shared benefits and costs.

The project focuses on testing thLifeLines steps for agriculture/food supply chains originating in East Africa

For this purpose, we are looking to recruit a
